We took the kids to a fountain at a local mall that is made for kids to romp around in and let them work off some energy. My littlest one kept umping at the edge of the fountain and swinging his hands down into the water streams as he landed. Not sure what he was doing but it was amusing. I laid on the ground about 20 feet away (to the amusement of many of the other parents there) and snapped a bunch of shots. When I saw this one it made me think of Mickey in Fantasia conjuring the water and buckets.
Cropped, a little dodge and burn to bring him out of the background, slight blur of background (masking Justin and the water streams to varying degrees) to decrease DOF, resize, add border, save for web.

I get a little fed up with my scores on DPC on occasion and then I see a shot like this coming in 59th with a 6.0xxx and I realise that I have nothing to complain about. I'm a so-so photographer who generally takes so so shots, you capture something as magical as this and it doesnt get a ribbon....I can tell you I would be v upset in your place. This was and remains one of the best child candids I have ever seen. Beautiful
