An ordinary expression of concentration... candids tend to work well when there is a really great expression that makes the viewer really interested in what is happening. Why should we care that this gentleman is focused on something out of frame?

I very much like the DOF and overall composition, but it seems overly sharpened and/or pixelated in a few places.

I'm guessing that this is possibly a posed candid although the fact that your subject is so intent on what he has doing really means you 'get away' with it
