Two inches to the right and one down would have brought so much to this photo, a missed oppurtunity? Unless the original is larger... On the other hand, subject looks candid, the lighting is good.
Talya, Just stumbled across this - I missed the december free study and haven't seen them. This is a fabulous capture - such a true moment, great emotion, nice composition - I love her wavy hair flying all over. I too am surprised it didn't get more than a 6. I'd say at least 9! Good work.
Talya, Somehow I am not surprised that one of my top three choices for this challenge is one of yours. You just get better and better all the time. My only surprise is that it only scored barely over 6 here at DPC.
It is a great image and should have got a much higher score.
Very spontaneous expression, nice warmlight. The wild curly hair adds to the free mood expressed. Crop under the chin is a bit tight, would have like a bit more space.
great energy and smile. I love her windswept hair. Good use of negative space. I wish her chin wasn't crowding the bottom of the frame so much, though.
Great capture. Her expression looks very genuine. Nice lighting as well. My only comment would be to leave a little more space at the bottom. I find the crop a little tight. Well done! 8
Beautiful, creative composition and wonderful expression of emotion. The chin slighting touching the edge of the frame disturbs me just a bit, but overall a beautiful shot. 8
