Lighting: My base lighting (just so that the image is not pitch black except for the streaks) was the same as for day 28 of my 30 day black & white challenge. Used a flash positioned behind the glass (lower than the glass) to fire at the blue wall. The reflected light from the large wall made for nice smooth light. Used the a PC cord (with DIY safe sync) to trigger flash. A small white LED was used to 'paint' the light streaks.
Post processing: RAW conversion. Noise reduction to ensure smooth out the background a little. Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to try tone down a weird reflection just below the bowl of the glass (might be from my hand while I was 'painting'. Curves for adjustment layer contrast. Added the border, resize, smart sharpen and save for web.

Greetings from the critique club! This is a very nice image and I'm delighted to get to critique it.
Pros:
Your lighting is very good, and the streaks have great color, great exposure, and a nice fluid motion. Overall color of the image is very nice.
Cons:
Not much here; there are the burnouts in the glass, but they're minor, and I'd prefer a smoother background on this one (there are a couple of dark patches on the left side) but overall I think it's very good, and the voters clearly thought so too.
