I bought a box of tree decoration from the dollar store and this was one of them. It’s a cheapie plastic imitation of frosted glass or crystal. It’s hung on a bad fake tree and lit from behind with blue and orange Christmas lights. Although everything in the picture (and tree) was cheap and “tacky” after it was all done the tree didn’t look half bad.

Hi greetings from the CC, i find this challenge very hard to critique to be honest, because they are asking us to shoot something of no aesthetic value IMO, which I think you have done well in terms of subject it is tacky. I find the composition a little too central to be interesting using the 1/3 2/3 rule would probably help compostionally, perhaps moving the subject over to the right a little. The lighting is also a little too reflective IMO finding something that is slightly more indirect may have helped, tho it does have that christmas tree glow to it. i agree also with the comments below, shot would have been better without the added border. It is a clear in focused shot tho, good job for a tough topic to make look good.
