This was shot in a pitch dark room
10 second exposure
only light source was a 2D Mag Flash Light
Megan brought her kids to make this shoot happen - so a 2 and 3 year old were running madly about in the dark, crashing into things and screaming, and still she held rock still for the 10 seconds.
To me this is the power of light painting - this beautiful subtlety that comes from not knowing where the light source is coming from. Scribbles of light are fine - but the beauty of subtlety becomes a commercially viable lighting technique.
See to see the true power of this amazing lighting technique.

Megan is one very cool lady. Doug, I loved this image from the moment I saw it and it is, for me, one of the best light painting examples I've ever seen. Great work.
I love this; the light and shadows play perfectly across the model, and the pose, composition and tones are wonderful. One of my top picks of the challenge.
She looks a bit soft to me but studio lights are not in the spirit of the chalenge imo, even if it was hand held. That aside her face is nicly lit but almost washed out in spots, & her rear sholder looks rather noisy. Good Luck
This is a beautiful photograph and the fan is just so elegant but i don't think that the painting with light is a main focus here, so i would say it probably doens't really meet the challenge
