Here's what I did to this pic:
Cropped and Straightened
Adjust Brightness-Contrast, Levels, Hue-Saturation
Duplicate Layer to ---Romove color cast, spot healing, dodge-burn, clone out hot spot over head,
Decreased red,
Sharpen layer, Neat Image layer,
re-cropped (liked this crop better),
Resized,
Re-levels and re-sharpened...(Resizing does a lot of crap to pics!!!)

I think this might've worked better (imo only) if the background of the picture matched the background of your image (like either both images with the blinds or the door). It's a good idea though.
Cool idea. I wish the blinds weren't purple... a neutral color (as in the gray door in the background of the picture) would be more in keeping with the theme.
