This is the Turk's Head building in Providence, RI. It stands at the corner of Weybosset and Westminster Streets, and defines the neighborhood.
Originally built on the site of a shopkeeper's store who had always kept a "Turk's Head" in the window, the granite representation stands as a salute to the history of Providence.
Tangri is the name of the Turkish god of Tengrism, and is said to personify Heaven. Since I believe in Heaven - there you go!
Ghengis Khan is also said to have received all his power from a mandate from Tangri.
I would've preferred it if you'd rotated the picture CCW slightly - this way I feel a bit like I'm on a boat whenever I look at it. Very good image though! 8
