This is my Abby. She is THE light in my life! I raised 2 sons, who were the best thing in my whole life, and tho I wouldn't trade them for ANYTHING, I always longed for a little girl.
I never did have a daughter, BUT, my first grandchild born was this amazing little girl. And I have to say, as much as I longed for her, my heart was totally unprepared for how intensely and all consuming one could love another human being that wasn't your own child. And each day, that love grows. I think it's interesting too that Abby started calling me "Ammy", and one day I was reading a story in the Bible, and learned that Ammy was a Bible name that meant "This is my people". Quite appropriate considering how much not only Abby -- but Abby's mom (AND her mom's family), and of course my son mean to me :)
This was taken at the same time of Carson's cake-eating photo. It was her birthday too. We had a joint birthday party. Abby turned 3; Carson turned 1 :)
A gorgeous study of a beautiful child. I like the softness of it and is it me or is there a slight bit of colour on her lips? This draws you in and makes those wonderful chocolate smears stand out even more
far out .. this is the last one i'm commenting on or even going to open tonight, coz if open one of yours i cant help commenting .. they're all just too good ... this is so gorgeous .. i wont go on and on about wot an amazing photographer you are, but gotta say your photographs are captivating ...:):)xx
Beautiful photo Sandy. Congrats on your amazing (and growing) family. Does Abby still call you Ammy? My husband (as a toddler) used to call his grandmother Grambley ... and so she stayed and was called by everyone else until she went to heaven.
Love the elegance of the photo, only to be offset by the frosting on the face!!!LOL
well, I must confess I'm not a big child fan (please don't hate me Sandy!!!), but I do appreciate good photography.
And I appreciate the skills involved in taking another remarkable photo.
It is such a pleasure to look at your B&W work. This one is sooooo exceptional. The tones are perfect, the model is a doll, great soft feel to the image. I went back to your b&w portfolio because I had missed some shots. All stunning! What an inspiration you are.
Sandy, this is stunningly beautiful and moving. Thanks for sharing what Abby means to you, and thanks for sharing this gorgeous photo of her. You have captured her soft little-girlness so well. Makes me go to mush inside.
Abby is a beautiful child! Grandchildren are wonderful! She is blessed to have you as her grandmother! I love how soft and beautiful she is in the photo!
Abby's a beauty and you've done her justice with this wonderful image. I could look at this the rest of the night and only wish that I was as carefree as I used to be. Great job!
I'm not even kidding. How did you do this? I mean, she's a little tyke, full of life, emotion... some cake on, and gorgeous posing without being a wild little thing? lol. Really, this is intensely beautiful!
Cute photo, she is a beautiful little girl. I have a friend that would have a stroke looking at this photo b/c she can't stand when people have food on their face. Sometimes I put food on my face on purpose just to watch her squirm..lol..anyway well done and I love the soft look of her skin.
Adorable and such a memotable image to keep in ones heart forever..... She is beautiful and in such though, for one so young, like she is somewhere else.....
What a wonderful capture, and yes, you are the "Queen of Candids" re portraits, thats for sure.....
Absolutely beautiful! I hope we have a girl one day. The boys are fun but I would LOVE shopping for a baby girl :) All of my friends have little girls so I just have to spoil them for now! hehe..great photo!
