It rained all day. I drove out to Sloan's Lake on a whim after work, and ended up trudging around in soggy, muddy grass dotted with goose droppings in high-heeled sandals looking for something decent to shoot with my new wide angle. This was the closest I got. Not really a very exciting shot, unless you're impressed by the sky. The processing pulled out a lot of the great drama. I wish I could do a convincing job of cloning out the streetlights, but it turned out to be such a deceptively complex job that I just gave up.
- tonemapped the everliving heck out of it
- converted to b/w with a gradient map
- five or six passes with shadow/highlight
- big big dodge and burn brushes on earth and sky
- little dodge brush on geese
- gothic glow layer at around 35-40% fill
- smart sharpened background layer
- resize & save for web

Great sky and a nice photo. Sometimes it's best to just leave it as it is and just be real, no need to worry about the streetlight cause it's still a nice photo!
