 I shot this wasp on a very sunny leaf. He looked drab out in the sun but I was amazed at how colorful he was when I looked at the image. I desaturated the background, used unsharp mask and noise reduction, cloned out some dust on his back, adjusted the contrast, brightness and color, and cropped in significantly.

Look closer - the antennae aren't desaturated. Just unfortunately neutral colors. I thought about trying to selectively boost their saturation, but ran out of time.

I can take them kind of closeups but I wish I knew what I need to do to keep the entire bug in focus. Nice shot! 10

It all looks a little overexposed. A little more contrast between the two different background and on the insect would have made this photo better for me.
