I hope this is OK - first time I've submitted anything so if there's something wrong I apologise.
Re the disqualification - still not sure exactly why this is DQ'd but the photograph is a photograph of a photograph so those of you who thought it was an added 'layer' are incorrect.
Disqualification Details
You may not use ANY editing tool to move, remove or duplicate any element of your photograph that would change a typical viewer's description of the photograph (aside from color), even if the tool is otherwise legal, and regardless of whether you intended the change when the photograph was taken.

It would have been a good picture but to have shown that the picture was another seperate photograph, you could have bent or placed the photo a different way to actually show it was real and not just pasted in
Thanks - I guess I just thought that particularly given the topic nobody would possibly assume I would 'cheat'. Also the reflection on the shiny top would have been extremely difficult to achieve were it not real.....
Anyway, it's history now - certainly made me realise that with unobservant, mean-spirited people around I don't need to be here too. But, again, thanks for caring.

Perhaps you should ask someone on the site council why you were disqualified if you haven't already. If that's a photo of a photo, you shouldn't be in trouble..
nice concept, I feel it is cropped too much. It would've been better if the left edge of the photograph was included in the frame, but it's a nice concept, and it evokes lots of emotion.
The composition is forced. The items in the frame are pretty random and seem totally unrelated to one another. The plant and pot are really dark which gives contrast to the rest of the items, but the contrast of the shot over all could be a bit higher, I think...or even red channel only.
When I fist glanced, I thought that perhaps this was a "cheater," but I quickly realized that this is not a separate capture, but rather a photo of a photo.
And since part of the photo within has been desat'd, I'm pulled even more to see that it is the person within that photo that is the real subject. One would ask why use the photo? Why not the person himself? The use of past tense of the title makes me thing that this person is no longer available for photos. Perhaps a former lover, or even a departed one. Either way, it lends itself to the emotion of image.
I'm struggling with how you composed the image, but the concept behind it is solid. I give just as much credence to concept as I do visual appeal, so I'm still putting you down for an 8
This is very emotive...it expresses your thoughts, feelings and obvious love. I like the composition very much and the thoughtful placement of the items...especially the dried flower. I cannot cast a vote, because I have now realized who's image this is and it wouldn't be fair. But, I believe I would have given it a 6 or 7.
I'mnot real sure how people will take to this one. It took me a second and I had to look around to see the reflection from the picture. You might get askeed to validate this one.
