Yeah, lighting seems kind of flat. Might want to try shooting at different times of day. Try catching some angled early or late light, and see how it can add depth and texture to a shot. A beautiful subject, good for experimenting with :-)
I'd give this a 90^ CW rotation. Looking at the grass sideways is distracting. Other than that, the focus is good - the lighting could be better, but isn't horrible. If you used a flash, that could be the problem.
