Post-voting: THANKS for my first ribbon! The final touches on this shot were the direct result of my DPL teammates reviewing and giving me suggestions. So thanks, Critical Mass!

This is a reshoot of an image from last July:
. Since then, I've learned a lot about shooting and editing. For example, this time I used a tripod, which let me use a smaller aperture and slower shutter, which gave me greater depth of field.
I've been looking for an appropriate challenge to reshoot it, and this seems to work well (my DPL teammates think so, anyway!).
I love the double curves: the literal curve of the railings and the implied curves of the friction striping on each step.
This staircase is in my office building, and I've entered other angles of it in challenges and in various other projects:

I happened to be looking through forums and ran across the "I spy" one and noticed you put me in there... I decided to look through your portfolio again and saw that I missed this ribbon. Congrats on the shot - though I like the crop/composition of your July 2006 shot better, you have definitely improved as far as technical skill. Keep it up : )
A fine shot indeed. Elegant and nicely composed. Really like the contrasts here with the black and golden railings against the bright steps. Really makes the patterns pop. Congratulations! :)
Just wonderful, Jeff! You really nailed it in this shot. I really like the way that the railing, which normally would be curving back on itself gives the illusion of many different ones fanned out. Perfect angle IMNSHO. Congrats on your first ribbon!
Congratulations, Jeffery. This is fabulous. This staircase has served you well, and you do it honor with your great shots. So glad the voters are recognizing your talent.
Big congrats Jeffrey. You are so good at patterns and architecture. Very nice detail, my favorite part is how it isn't your typical staircase shot looking straight down, but rather just one portion. Brilliant idea. Nice post-work too. Congrats again.
Jeffrey!!! CONGRATULATIONS on winning a ribbon for this EXCELLENT shape photo! It is so incredibly awesome -- and so YOU! What a great way to start off with your new team! Woo Hoo!
Congrats!!! this first thing that came to mind when i read the shapes challenge was your other photos of this staircase. but I couldn't find one. great job!
Congrats big time Jeff! I gladly and unbegrudgingly take 4th with a smile on my face watching you ribbon ahead of me. Well done my friend. Now go get another! Excellent work!
