Lighting: My home-made flash 90 degrees camera right, providing some back lighting. As usually the flash was fired by an optical trigger.
Post processing: RAW. Had to clean up a little bit of grey in the background (read: sloppy lighting), as well as a few other flecks. Black and white conversion, channel mixer with 100% green and 40% blue (blue channel was very dark, but adds drama). Levels to set the white point. Curves for a little bit more contrast.
Delicate and beautiful - and yet I'm thinking it may be a sword of some sort - so you've managed to create beauty in an item that could kill me - nice work!
