I was kind of excited when I saw this challenge. I really like making albumn covers. I also am a musican in various forms of strange things. I used one of my projects as a inspiration for this challenge. here is the page for that stuff //www.myspace.com/reptilianhumanoid.

Didn't get a chance to comment during voting, but this was one of my favorites (you got a 10 from me). Congrats on your personal best. Thought this would end up even higher than it did.
First of all, congrats on a new best score. I am sure that many more will follow, but it's always nice to have a new image sitting on the profile page.
Camera Work/Technical: Your choice of presentation fits your subject matter very well. There are some hot spots, suggesting a little overexposure, but, in combination with the graininess of this image, the overexposure works nicely.
Lighting: As mentioned before, a little overexposed, but I would not have changed anything about the lighting. You created a very nice, high-contrast image.
Composition/Content: The items seem to fit well together, representing the finality of all things. I like it, but it may have been just a bit too busy for the voters.
My Opinion: 5.7 is a very respectable score, and you finished with a well-deserved new personal best. Voters tend to vote lower on duotone images and images with grain. Even with that, you were able to pull a 5.7. Nice work, and I look forward to more.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric
Very original - love the photography parephanalia! There is so much to see here; in virtually any other challenge the photo would be too too cluttered, but as part of the album cover it works for me.
Death Proves Life was started in 1977 by Tom Waits' little sister. She was only 14 at the time, but she loved to rock. She also became fascinated with the idea that she couldn't really be sure she was alive until she died. Morbid for a child so young, but her big brother had been taking her to cemeteries and making up stories about the people who were buried there. She couldn't help but notice that their stories were so much more varied and vivid than the lives all around her, even and especially her own life. She started her band with a couple of her disaffected classmates in an attempt to commune with those myriad magnificent dead. She turned their stories into songs, hoping that they could hear her, hoping that she could hear them. At age 16, she made her final album, "Slave to the grain," after realizing that her brother had just made up all those stories. For her the "grain" represented the direction her life was lumbering, but also the noise in the air, the noise that she used to think was the dead trying to speak to her, but now seemed nothing more than the blare of expectations, the fuzz of normalcy deadening her existence.
They found the suicide note taped to her mirror. Drawn on the bottom was her symbol for the constant noise that she couldn't get out of her ears: a swordfish trombone.
Definitely looks like cover art, kind of reminds me a little of a Herbie Hancock video(can't remember the song name anymore). Like the collection of stuff...the grain works well with it.
Weird photo. Very industrial rock... Would make a decent album cover, although the text doesn't seem to match: fontwise, and also it clashes a bit with the graininess.
Ohhh.... your picture is so amazing but the text just kills it for me. It's a very cheesy font and I think it could have been positioned better. Still giving you a decent score but I wish I could give much higher.
