A friend of ours wanted to dress up in his Batman costume and get a portrait done. He's obsessed with Batman (he made the costume and he even builds Batmobile models), and I had funindulging in his little hobby. :) (I'm a little silly too.)
The lighting is from a dual head construction light (with two 500W tungsten bulbs). We constructed a soft-box for the light and I'm pretty pleased with the results.
The photo is pretty heavily edited (to give it a comic-book like feel).
Some cloning, copied the bat symbol and made the spotlight, selective gaussian blur, and some filters (Cartoon, Oilify, Soft Glow, USM). All of the editing was done in the GIMP.
I think it would look better if he wore something skin tight. The blacks look a little on the brown side. It seems like maybe he should be backlit so you see a silhouette of his body rather than the wrinkles on the clothes. I am certainly no expert on lighting but just my ideas. Good luck!
