it's too bad that you would let thoughts of how voters "prefer" things keep you from entering this in a challenge. the only thing i would do different is change the title. let people guess who this really is. i thought this was some man taking notes outside of a house or in some kind of garage. i like the mystery of it.

When I waited tables, I learned really quick how unimportant I am to the world, until the food is late, lol! This really adds to that point, imo. I think it's a great statement. Nicely done!
I particularly like the no face and just a hint of light on his mouth. I like the perspective as he sort of looms over you, although his position isn't threatening.
Very interesting photo, with the contre jour, the darkened face and the whole composition. Your post processing is awesome. You have a real knack for taking photos with a distinct edge. I'll be interested to see more of your work.
With his face hidden in the shadows, he is quite anonomous. Striking photo, but you are right that it would not do well in a challenge. Some of my favorite photos are the ones I shoot just for me without concern of what DPCers might think. I like this alot
