I took this during a community service portrait session for low income single Moms and this was one of my favorites. This little girl wanted a picture of her braids.
I went over the image very lightly with Corel Painter acrylic brushes.

I don't think a portrait has ever appealed to me as much as this one. This little girl has the face of an angel and with your processing, the result is stunning.
YES!
as usual, top quality from Susi.
There are still some minds needing an upgrade to their vision about contemporary photography. Time is on your side!
This is one of my top two favorite pics of the challenge. Lovely editing, beautiful model, great colors. Just a great strong and striking image. Hope to see this place well.
the arm position suggests a Classical pose without quite achieving it, but that just makes this all the more charming. The processing/lighting is so painterly. I love it. 8
I suppose this is HDR but I'd love to hear more about your processing after the challenge. The child has such a baby doll's face - and your treatment makes it a beautiful, timeless painting. Amazing.
one of my favs.. such a beautiful shot, the colors are amazing... the background is so nice, I zoomed it in and can't tell if this is a natural or edited background, either way it really works here.. her eyes are beautiful.. this is HOW you edit in expert :) nice job! 8
I think this is a lovely portrait - complementary coloring, the background is nice, and the pose is non-standard and holds a viewer's interest. Great job!
Beautiful shot and such a great little model. I love her expression and the painting feel of this shot. Wonderful color tones. Back to bump you up to 9.
This is really nice in compostion and color selection. I love the natural pose which fits the natural colors. The only thing I don't like too much is the horizontal stripes on the shirt. They seem to clash with the overall mood. 9
What can I say, it's perfect. This reminds me of Susi's work. If this is Susi, wow, you certainly have a touch. If it's not Susi, well, take it as a big compliment. ~10
PS - I really would like to learn how this is done (besides finding the perfect model I mean).
This is a real beauty. The background is great and matches the rest of the picture and the overall tone is just fine. I gave this a 10 and my only comment.I hope that it does well for you.
This looks like susi's work - please forgive me for saying so if it's not you - it is meant as a compliment. I love the tones and 3D & "painted" effect of editing. Outstanding.
Don't know what processing you did but I really love the way this came out. Almost animated-cartoon-like, but with a young subject it doesn't look horribly fake. She looks quite proud of her braids and her eyes are just mesmerizing. Background is complementary. Really, everything about this just works for me. Thanks for sharing your talent!
I would like this more if she were further away from the background - or outside. Those eyes and that great face, ok, and the very cute hair are crying out to be outdoors! :-) 7
Lovely, timeless portrait of a very appealing child with very nice DA work. However, I think the image would be even more effective if you cropped just a bit off the top--maybe 1/2 and inch (1cm).
subject Emma expressive (N. Rockwell like, but formal) & color of conventional studio painted back merge for excellent, pleasing, beautifully made portrait.
