Oftentimes, one falls into an inner debate about the top five images and which one truly deserves the highest honor in one particular challenge. Well, this image rises to the very top on its own weight. It is a simple capture but in that simplicity we are catapulted into the felines sense of wonder. The composition is just right and one walks away fully entertained and happy to have seen this gem of an image. The good craftmanship adds to its delight.

This blue ribbon is great on so many levels. For one, congratulations - not even 10 entries and you've made a huge leap to a 7+ score - wow. And then a cat in first place of a challenge that is not a cat or pet study - go cats!! :o)

Ooh, a cat takes the blue! Very nice. Catnip bubbles are the greatest...I hold the wand in front of the fan and the cats lose their minds. Congrats. :)

So far the best bubble picture I've seen.
Post actions
i think the best photo of this challenge! I love it. it fits the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words". great shot.
Post actions
I hope this makes the front page. Adorable expression captured in the cats face. You did a nice job of getting the cat and the bubble in the same focal plane to eliminate the bg via DOF. Good luck in the challenge.
Post actions
As a cat lover, I think this is an awesome picture. The contents of the bubble is so creative! Love it.

Very nice: the bubble like a marble which is like a cat's eye.

Cute! I think a closer crop would be better though. Wonderful dof.

That must have been really hard to get that shot. Great Job.
Post actions
Aww this is cute. Very nice crisp focus. Love the warm colors of the cat. Amazed you were able to get the cat to sit so still without swatting at the bubble. It is great how the bubble is very crisp and you see reflections. Nicely done.

I'd love to see the outtakes from this, too! Very nice expression on the cat, and reflection in the bubble.
