Lovely colours on the wood - is that yellow really so yellow or has it been tweaked post-processing? Love the angle and detail - and the "Girl's Clubhouse" scrawl really does remind me of den's made and abandoned in childhood. 7, Kavey
i like this, but the angle disorients me...makes me feel like im looking at a trap door. are ya keeping the girls in the cellar? i like the color and the old wood. good composition. (6) ~mcmurma
Ownership. What a great aspect of childhood to highlight. I just love how "boys" is scratched out and the girls took over. The detail in the door is great. The yellow aging adds interest. The angle is great, slightly upward the way a child might see it and tilted enough to add interest. Good job. 8, just-married
this looks so set up. it's hard to believe you found this barn. no one ever writes on the door of a barn so it must be fake. even so, i like this photo :) just kidding, nice work! mag99
This is a great idea. I don't understand how and when the engravings on the plank may have been made. Quite recently, I'm afraid (just for the challenge?). Still, the picture makes one stand still and look back, diving into very old memories. I like it!
I liked this photo very much. Looks like it's been there awhile. The colors on the door are great, and the angle is perfect for "from a childs eyes" . The lighting was perfect for this shot. Was there some post editing to get the color on the left side of the door that way? Either way, it is very nice. Good luck in the challenge.
Thanks for the nice memories! I had my own all boys club, with the same kind of old wooden door... those were the days. This personally hits the spot for this week's challenge. Good luck!
As the president of the local chapter of the "He-man Woman Haters Club", I would like to file suit against the perpetrator of this slanderous, blasphemous, and otherwise chauvenistic and intentional display of sexual bias. WhuddEVah the intent is with this photo, noting good can come of the continued supression of the male in our urban society. We want equal pay and equal play :) So... shooowwwwww mmeeeeeee dddaaaaaa MONEY! :P - jmsetzler
I feel that if you left the door ajar somewhat, it may have added more interest to the photo. I don't know what I would have liked to see past the door - perhaps a slight glimpse of a toy. Overall, I like this photo.
