Looks like your background material is a little out of alignment. I can see the edges of each piece of foam, plus the upper right corner is out of alignment.
An overall light source is needed for the background along with a light directly on the subject to get good highlights and a black background.
How did you manage this without eating the subject? Great idea, the colour against the black is striking. Great stuff. (Oh, and I checked the math, you are right ;)
