I had originally submitted a photograph of a thimble w/ needle & thread, but was playing with shooting candles and this one just struck me as more appropriate for this challenge...
The candle is sitting on a plate. I have a cardboard box behind it with white paper taped to it and both are resting on the kitchen table where the morning sun was coming in on them (hence the shadow & light source)...
The only mods were cropping out the box which was showing on the left side.

Technical: Most all images submitted fit the challenge. I feel this one does well. Exposure composition focus lighting all good- the background light is interesting but borderline distracting to me.
Personal: For me this really works well for simplicity. I like the not-so-traditional placement and the angle of the shot.
everything looks good here, sharpness & focus, composition, fitting the challenge. On the slightest (infintestimol, really) the shadow in the BG, looks like a man's ear. Grabbing just a bit of my attention. Other than that, nice shot.
