Challenge: Soft Focus (Classic Editing)

 I used suppresed flash, Macro, Gaussian Blur 4 pixels, fill colour 95% transparency and unsharp mask (That is very technical to me but I was trying to follow advice given on the forum)
I tried numerous ways of getting the desired effect like breathing onto the lens but it just looked like a fog or cleared too soon
I also tried with a very fine pink ribbon but I could see it on the pic so I hope I have achieved the right effect my camera is quite limiting
I even tried placing the flower onto a pink back ground but I think I like this the most and if its not right I am sorry but I am as happy as I can get with this. I hope I have learnt something with this challenge we shall see soon I guess

Great effort Sally. The soft pink colours are just really beautiful. I think you could have make it even more powerful by differently coloured background. I find the grey kind of dreadful.

I do think you have a bit of soft focus going on. The flower itself and the colours are soft, but I guess in this challenge people were really expecting misty looks. As you said, you are happy with the result, and that's what counts the most. Keep on trying, you'll do just fine.

The subject is soft, but the focus is nice and sharp - as it should be for this type of photo.

Challenge met. The light is very nice but wish it was toned done just a wee bit. The color is outstanding..love it. I do think a different camera position would of benefited this shot. I think being even with the subject his a negative for this shot. [?] I hope that makes sense and it is just my opinion. This is good and I hope it does well. 8
