 Unedited, Off shore fun. Sailing with my son Robert on his boat, "S V Wahine". His family went for a week along the S W Florida coast, then the two of us went sailing for a couple of days.
Took this with my "picture stick", a monopod, using the self timer set at 5 sec with the 15mm fish eye. I just shoot and look, then adjust, shoot again and repeat until I think I have a keeper.
This is a "how I got this shot- shot" . Here's the better composition.

totally cool shot, I've wanted to try shots like this but I don't have a head on my monopod that allows it to be adjusted to different angles. I'd love to see this shot maybe out more to the side to maybe cut you out of it or find a way to have the monopod secured to the boat so you can let go of it and look more relaxed and natural. Still a cool shot.

Holy cow, that's brave of you! Not that you'd fall but that you'd drop the camera! Great shot. Now dodge your face just a bit so we can see that grin.

wow ... just read the lengths you've gone to get this excellent shot ... it was totally worth it ... an excellent 'action' shot with great perspective and love the light shining thru the sails and that expanse of open sea in the background ... you certainly wouldnt want to be a fumble fingered type like me ... losing a camera and fish eye lens to the sea could be an extremely unpleasant experience!!! ..
and before i read roger's comment i didnt really understand wot you meant by a picture stick ... amazing paraphenalia we have to support our 'interest' in photography .. its more an 'obsession' for me, but i didnt think i should infer you had personality problems like my own re photography!! .. i'm too nice, unlike roger!!!
was driving to acupuncturist today and sorta wondered where you were coz i thought you'd be in for the rest of the 'party', just forgot u'd gone away for the weekend .. excellent to have you back ....

Are you holding that camera on a stick? I think you are. With a remote? I'm astounded. OK, let's talk about obsession, shall we? This is just great. Talk about fun. At first glance I was going to complain about the shadows, but after looking at it for a while, the shadow kind of grows on you. It adds a nice contrast, and keeps this from being just a snapshot (not that it could ever be just that). Not sure I'm making any sense, here, so I think I'll stop trying. Great shot, Waddy.
