Greetings from the Critique Club: to begin with, this image obviously fit the challenge...it conjures up a smell, and a strong one at that. The image itself has some problems. To begin with I believe you have moved in too closely on your subject and lost focus. The overall color is quite drab and the shadows/reflections/noise on the curled back lid are very distracting. You might like to try the shot with some different lighting so that your image is cleaner/clearer and the overall effect more exciting. Better light would reduce many of the problems.

Yes, stinky indeed. The picture is out of focus, though, and a bit dull--I would have liked this a lot with crisp detail and better lighting.

Yes they do stink, don't they? A good idea for the challenge but the shot leaves me wanting. It's too blurry and the border is a bit heavy for this shot. A 3

focus, focus, focus - Try manual focus if you have one, if not try pulling the camera back and zoom in (using tripod)
