Challenge: Color Portrait II (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Location: Our back yard
Date: Mar 17, 2007
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/40
Galleries: Fashion, Family
Date Uploaded: Mar 18, 2007

My daughter, Lauren, standing against the wall in our courtyard. This is way more editing than I'm used to, but I thought it would be a fun experiment. I desaturated the colors by varying degrees from 10-20%, then boosted the contrast. Then I overlayed a high pass filter layer with boosted contrast and a bit of a faded blur. Cook at 400 degrees until golden brown.

Thanks, Marac. :-) Thankfully, we've agreed that she can start dating when she turns 30. Still need to break that to her at some point...

A closer-in shot of torso and head might've made a better portrait.

certainly is unique, lol. She looks like she is ready to stomp on anyone who'd dare to make fun of her outfit. "What did you say about my clothes??"

I think the colours work well here, it's an interesting shot and very different to a lot of the other entries. Well done
