Two things, in my eyes, that I felt you nailed: the vignette - it really lifts the shot to another level, and the saturation - the wonderful dirty(?) reds give this a feel of old photographs you might find in your parent's album of when you were a child. Remember those? The one's where colour was added by the photographer manually later? Ahhh yes... I got that melancholy feeling alright... :) |

Aimee, She is soooo cute! I especially like the thoughtful expression in her eyes. This should have scored much higher, IMO. Nice work. |

Awwwwww. . . .this is so perfect! For challenges like this that aren't "studio portrait" challenges, I always look for pictures more natural and in an appealing environment. This one does that beautifully, and I'm disappointed that the voters didn't score it better! :( She is so PRETTY! Her pretty little lips looks like she has lipstick on, but you can tell that's just her naturl coloring.

Comment only - this is a wonderful shot of Rowan and very aptly titled. She does indeed look melancholy, though I suspect she was mostly of the "aww, c'mon mom, do we have to do this now?" mindset. |

the smoothing here really takes away from the adorable natural pose, iw ould love to see more texture all around |
