This is Elísabet Thorlacius. Am officially on a break but the rest of my WPL teammates persuaded me to continue submitting till we either drop out of the 4th season or win the whole thing so am am merely submitting something for their sake. Specifically went out to shoot for this challenge but could only spare an hour, fortunately Elísabet was available on short notice. The ring around her eye is supposed to be smudged on purpouse, it was also raining but it didn´t show up as well as I would have liked on the face.
Don´t think this will do very well in the challenge cause of the noise and the "acid" look of the image, don´t care at all as I really like this shot.
Lit with two reflectors from each side. Henny took care of the makeup as usual and held a reflector on the left, I held a smaller one to the left of Elísabet.
Processing was mostly raw conversion, toned down colors, up with contrast, a little healing brush to remove a hair over her forehead, some dodge/burn, added some vignetting and finally sharpened after resizing.

great! You know what would have made this a REALLY great picture? a completely black background so that it looked like she had a hole in her head and the eye was just floating there...
A very good photograph and I like the grain and the post on her face. Other than meeting the challenge, though, the black eye doesn't do much for me - it's too deep black and loses all the texture of the skin around the eye, which I think would have been better to have.
Hmm... very good. Should have worked wonders in the Grain challenge as well - I think the graining adds a lot to the photo. Good make-up job. Maybe a bit softer contours on the black eye?
