I know, it's a bit "snapshotty", but I like it :)))
We set it up at the top of the stairs. Laura was crouching behind the wall. We called Ximena. She came up the stairs, unawares, Laura poked out her head, and yelled, "BOO!!!". That's it. One take. Used tripod and flash.

This almost got pulled off but the girl getting scared looks more like she's set up than actually surprised. The girl on the left doesn't even look like she's looking at the girl on the right, the motion is good since she would be jumping out, also the girl on the left seems a bit too far from the corner she would be hiding behind to scare the other girl. Little things that jump out at me. A 7
I hate it when someone jumps out at me:) I always try to hide the surprise...LOL this is a nice idea. the image could use a bit more balance in terms of the space it was shot. the opening to the back of the room is a bit distracting....may have worked better if the lights were on in the hall and over the door?
The blur of motion on the left helps us to feel the surprise, the bold patterns and tones of the girl on the right's cothes stand out well against the white. The stairs and the door are distracting.
The tones and focus is very nice. Good lens you have. I just feel the overall shot looks a bit too staged or snap shot like. I don't dislike your shot at all just tossing out some random thoughts.
