It's so rare to see a good, interesting deer photo. This is one of the very best. A high-energy composition, with exciting diagonal lines thanks to the branches (and the camera tilt). The camera tilt also makes us feel intensely close to the deer, as though we've stumbled upon him. The grain makes this picture more 2-dimensional, emphasizing the power of its composition. 10
