Nice shot, but I don't understand why you included the green in the background. It doesn't add to the compostion in any way.

You might not like my comment... but this red checker table cloth and the white border with it, takes all the richness of the beautiful red rose..

A dark green or black velvet would have been much better...JMHO

Great color and clarity, good composition as well. I like the use of shallow DOF, but find the transitions of focus abrupt and uncomfortable, especially in the foreground. Very nice overall though!

Hey, nice capture. The only improvement I'd work on this type of shot is having more DOF in front of the flower ... not sure what cam you used, but it can be done by mannually focusing. The DOF for the back is bang on. J. 8
