I racked my brain all week for something that would fit the propaganda challenge. Here is my 11th hour shot. I don't expect it to do well (I know how animal shots score) but, we will see.
Georgia (model) is not sentenced to die but, she was. I rescued her from a local shelter 4 years ago.

First, your shot fits the challenge quite well and with the comments you recieved, it hit the emotions of many DPers. Which is always a plus.
Your pup reminds me of mine, its eyes say "I'm ready to fetch a ball or play". That's the kind of capture that makes your shot so good.
I think the coloration for this challenge, it works well with the "Propaganda" challenge. It reminds me of one of the old cold war shots. This is also very good.
Your framming and cropping are good and works well with the the cage. The tail really modifies the shot.
I see only one negative, it appears that you needed just a tad more contrast, so the eyes could be seen a little better. This is minor and strictly my thoughts. Another shot your could have done and would have even a stronger emotional charm, would to have your pup lying down looking up pathetically, but that would be hard. My dogs wouldn't do that.
Great theme and very creative- bob barker would be proud. To bad that bottom bar is in ht eshot or I'd say this would have been a nine, otherwise still pretty good.
Why the duotone? I think that to have the impact you want, the viewer would need to connect to the dog in some way. To this is to make him look like fido down at their feet. Show me some color. 6 -danny
I understand the difficult of getting the dog to pose where you could get the features but I do wish the angle had been more level. Other than that it's a good response to the challenge
This is so powerful. You have fulfilled the challenge so well. I got goosbumps when I read this. I love dogs, so I can really identify with this. I really like the sepia tone on this photo as it ads such a sadness to it. Sharpness is fairly good under the low light conditions. I would have liked to see more of the cage around him, but this is nice close up as well. But you get 10 from me for the message it sends.
Too bad the photographer couldn't catch the poochie looking forlornly into the camera lens. That would have been really excellent. As a composition, the bars are definitely the focus, but nothing is particularly striking here. Message and picture work well together.
Beautiful emotional image. I wish the focus was sharper on the eye of the dog. The title (which is of utmost importance for this challenge) doesn't work for me.
