Interesting composition and cropping. Feels a little too dark for me, but most of the hand is well lit. Perhaps it's that the pencil seems to be too much in the dark? Just my opinion though.

nice... maybe the lighting should have been from a different angele so the 'real shadow' would not overlap the graphite shadow?

Technically well done, meets the challenge. Like the idea, but perhaps (I think) the picture could have been lit in such a way that the drawn shadow was a little more obvious…
