This is one of my favorites in the challenge. I love emotive photos like this that tell 100 different stories depending on who is looking at it. Good idea for the challenge, and great execution.
The emptiness of your composition leaves a strong feeling of loneliness and despair. Suggestion: try converting it to B&W and increase contrast. We lose a lot of detail in the dark areas in your color shot and you could probably restore some of it in B&W. But, in my opinion, a good photo is able to convey a feeling and yours certainly did that for me.
