First thing I notice is the black surrounding the hand and then the texture of the fabric in the lower right. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but I'm not sure what it could represent other than maybe stars, but that's a bit of a stretch. The light reflection on the world suggests that is the direction of the light so maybe lifting your hand off the fabric may have helped blacken that corner more. The whole black and white with color thing is interesting, it certainly makes the world stand out here. I'm sure there is a neat metaphor with why the hand/holder is in grayscale and the world is in color! The image is sharp and clean, I like it.
De-saturation works, despite what it's done to central asia and presumably africa. Good light, neat idea, just a bit too blunt for my taste. Be very surprised if you don't ribbon for it though. 8
A good shot, like the way you've highlighted the globe by desaturating the red channel. Isn't the phrase: He's got the whole world in his HANDS? No matter. I would be a really striking photo with the allowance of editing, the little globe just looks too miniature to "move me". But I do like the idea. A small nitpick there's some noise or a table top (?) on the bottom right 1/6 of the photo.
Nice shot. Love how you have desaturated the hand and have kept the globe's vibrant colours. Lighting is also very good. I also appreciate that you centered on Africa rather than the too often selected North America - South America perspective.
I have seen a couple of photos done with all the saturation removed in all but on specific thing or color. I do not understand how this can be done without spot editing. If you could please explain how this is done.
