The word that comes to mind for me here is "almost." I don't like that as a viewer, I am blocked from "guitar man" by the two people in the foreground. Still, great light and tonality.
I like the idea, but the crop just doesnt work. Its almost like playing where's waldo to find the guy. I'd recommend cropping out most of the stuff left of the guy's arm (the one walking away) and it will still have the effect you want.
The OOF gentleman in the foreground nicely "splits" the scene between the dark-glasses wearing gents on the left and the bearded guitar gent and the bearded guy behind him on the right.
A different crop would have helped here. The out of focus man facing the other way is less distracting that the in focus people to the left of the frame.
the worst thing about this shot is the bottom right corner. that blur is bad and distracts far too much from the main subject. other than this i like the shot, theres lots going on, i want to see what was going on just out of shot to the left. good effort.
What a great street scene; the guitar man is fabulous, and putting him in the middle of the street scene really makes this picture as it gives context to the image, much more than a close up on him alone would have done. The barely hidden guy in the background slyly watching him walk by is priceless.
Cake. That's a Cake song. I like the random easy-going yet meaningful and deep feeling of this. Much like Cake lyrics:
" .... He can make you love he can get you high
He will bring you down he will make you cry
Something keeps him moving
But no one seems to know
What it is that makes him go
Then the lights begin to flicker and the sound is getting dim
The voice begins to falter and the crowds are getting thin
But he never seems to notice he's just got to find another place
to play ..." Guitar Man by Cake
When I looked at this image i thought that the middle guy was the subject. but then i looked at the title. maybe you could crop out the left side to not make it so cluttered. like this: //i108.photobucket.com/albums/n9/mavin_drummer/4714852.jpg
WONDERFUL! If only that blurred thing on the right wasn't there. Dang, I love this image and feel it is exactly what street photography means to me. Love the tones and sharpness of subject and the fact that there is a lot to look at but your eyes are drawn to him.
