Nope this is definitely a brotel - not a topless dancing bar - we have those too, but none around me here in the suburbs, mostly in the city of Melbourne and they are known as Men's Clubs.
Brothels, also known as massage parlors are legal and plentiful here not just in the city but in the suburbs too. I'd just never bothered to go looking around me (ignorance is bliss!). I'm pretty sure they're legal all around Australia.
Of course no-one wants to be living next door to one - so mostly they are in industrial not residential areas.
Soliciting for prostitution (or street walking) is technically illegal, but certainly also exists openly in certain suburbs too.
Topless dancing I'm assuming. We call those "tit bars" here. Great sense of movement. I like that I'm looking to the right, following the bright light, and the one way sign is going in the other direction. This could be a visual metaphor on several levels.
That is so interesting! Are brothel's legal in Australia :) They are quite illegal in America, but I'm sure we have them anyway. I love exploring and discovering the places around the world from this thread. You gave me an idea too. I think I might post photos of the "not so pretty" side of San Antonio. Great idea :)
