Yeah...not sure where this idea came from but...here it is. The title came to mind from that old Loreal hair color commercial on TV. I always thought it was so strange that the women seemed proud to be worth a $7 bottle of home hair color. So there you have it...I sprang for the $3.99 artichoke and created this "beautiful" hat because I'm worth it! : )
Shot in Raw in front of our new light set up that Tim built based off the set up that Pedro used to use. It's awesome not to have to wait until lighting conditions are just right outdoors to take a shot! Raw conversions. Elements - levels, selective color, neat image, unsharp mask, dodge, burn, minor cloning, blur, saturation, crop, border, save for web.

It seems a little top-heavy (imo, no pun intended). Maybe a crop at the first wavy part of the upgoing bow would have helped dumb voters. Dumb voters, this rocks!
My wife and I loved all the work and imagination that went into this shot.
It is a DP Challenge classic example of GREAT work slipping through the cracks.
I agree: You got totally robbed! And I can't for the life of me figure out why because this has ribbon or front page written all over it! The lighting and razor sharp focus is exquisite. The subject is adorable, and the composition could not be improved on.
WAY underrated. I really enjoy this one, and based on your score from commenters, I'm not the only one. Sometimes it's good to have a shot that really strikes a chord with a few people rather than a shot that gets the "yeah, 6, move on" reaction.
ROFL. I love the hint of green around her eyes. I always put artichokes on my head. HA HA HA HA So well done and not at all expected. The lighting is perfect. 10
