 I went one of my fav nature spots today for a few critter shots, and the sunset. This is a great blue heron who seemed happy to pose for me. Low shutter speed as it was near dark out. Sharpened a little with HP Edit. Cropped, no other adj.
zoom at 300mm, monopod, and tree.

WOW - look at that color. I've seen blue herons, but they've always been grayish. Beautiful composition, too.

I love the Great Blue Herons...another one of my favorite birds to photograph. The birds in Florida are so great for photography. I love that this one has breeding plummage. The focus seems more on the body than his head though.
