Oh man, my alternate for this challenge was turnips. I REALLY wanted to try to take an otherwise unattractive fruit/vegetable & do something interesting with it but went with a cliché shot instead (sort of a 'learn the rules before you break them' lesson for me...).

I like the idea of this. Great lighting. I'd have the root sticking up in the background out of the shot and have them sitting on a solid black surface.
