This image takes me back to my former life as a chef. I spent 17 years in kitchens and presentation was my specialty. This is somewhat representative of plates that I would serve. Good balance of color, height, shapes and textures with white space on the plate being prevalent. My outtake is an image that was more geared towards a magazine image rather than purely artistic. My wife said that this would do better.
This is a basic salad plate of spring greens, red Belgian endive, tomato, cucumber, and a brunois of red and yellow bell peppers and fresh chives. These white plates we have are a great canvas for pretty food and the fork offers a good balance I think.
I hope that this stands out against what I expect to be a bunch of macros or straight on whole fruit/veggie shots.

Oh yeah. . .there's that culinary training evident in a top scoring photo! This looks great! Our Center for the Foods of the Americas' Master Chefs would be impressed :) Great job and a great finish!
Low calorie diet? Looks great for a pic, but would not sustain my appetite for very long LOL. Excellent light set up, esp for the fork handle to show up as it does.
excellent colors, lighting, and presentation (also a top seller in stock photography if you are selling your shots :) ) -- one of my favorites this challenge
