Not as super-amazing as the photos from Shallow DOF II, but I thought I'd give it a shot!
Cropped, contrast/brightness, colors, sharpen. That's it! I'm really enjoying the basic editing rules because that's pretty much all I do with my photos anyway!
Taken at Sabino Canyon in Arizona - there was some major flooding in September and December, so the canyon isn't looking very deserty anymore!

I read your post in the forums. I think this is a nice photo that is a good example of shallow DOF. I think a lot of shots in this challenge that actually had shallow but not razor thin DOF got beat up by the voters. So don't worry about it, you did a good job here.
That is shallow DOF....the only thing that bothers me is that the rocks are tilted toward the right side of the picture. I just look awarkward to me. All else is good imo.
Yes, the DOF is shallow. You got it. However, the in focus rocks blend with the background. The idea with shallow DOF is to use it to isolate the main subject. With the colours being very similar the rocks aren't really isolated from the background.
Yes you have the DOF, but I think the subject matter wasn't a strong point for you in this one. I do like the photo, so be pleased that you achieved DOF. When you look at the top 20 images in this challenge, you may get a better picture to know what to aim for next time.
