 I was shooting my dog and horses from a very low perspective to try and blur the foreground and background for the shallow DOF challenge when Little Ann decided to come investigate.....

Good angle and the width of the DOF seems right for your subject. However, the left side of the dog is a little dark.

Great composition and square crop; nice use of shallow DOF to soften foreground and background; focal plane spot on providing clarity on that lovely catchlight in the eyes; simple but universal subject matter; works well in black and white. All good!
