Here are a few thoughts about your image (by the way I gave it a 5 during the challenge - Not a bad image at all, just not a great image that says wow or tells me a story).
First of all, the image is rather static - the main subject is in the center of the image.
Second, the lighting is not very dramatic - the background is dark and the marbles seem to get lost in it. I would imagine this would have worked much better to show the colors on the marbles (mostly dark blues and reds, etc) on a bright background with bright lighting.
I do think you did a nice job of conveying shallow DOF - the focus on the marble in front is pretty good, but the darkness makes it hard to tell on quick glance
