I like the detail, as if the bird interest is caught elsewhere. But I do not see the shallow foreground as represented by the background being out of field.

This starling looks cold. Nice sharp focus however I feel the image could improve with the use of slightly wider DOF, to gain a bit of definition in the background and add context as well as a bit more sparkle in the eye.
