I like the minimal subject a lot (I won't use the word "minimalism" here because I know I don't know the right definition). A little more contrast in the clouds would add some visual interest, but I could see this as one of a multi-panel thing hanging on a wall.
I actually like how you shot this underexposed. Maybe even a half a stop more underexposer to really bring out those textured clouds. Very simple composition but works. I like how the birds are flying into the frame. Wonderful colors. The simple line the birds make are great. I had this one rated much higher than your final. I think the problem with this picture it takes a few minutes to appreciate, it is pretty easy to overlook on a quick glance.
