Taken in harsh sunlight, as you can see. The bonus though with the high shutter speed is that the water in the background is jet black, giving it a portrait style background i thought.
I did play around with a soft focus version of this, and many outtakes, as always you never know if you've made the best choice.

Nice close headshot. Somewhat harsh lighting at that time of day for a largely black and white animal. The lighting works better for me with an equally dramatic crop, like with the neck angled a little more to the right and coming right out of the lower left corner, and the right side cropped as tightly as the top. JMO.
