I like the way the skateboarder's gaze is caught here... hopefully, 5.0+ score.
Post-Challenge:
I made my score goal for this pic--thanks for all who voted!
Biggest issue with most commenters was the guy in the background... BTW, he was a friend working with me on the shot, not a random passerby. I had versions of the pic without him in the background, although the skateboarder wasn't frozen as well. In the end, I decided that the background movement was a positive here, and selected this photo. From the comments, however, I might have scored higher with just a simpler background.

Not really getting a feeling of panning in this shot. The guy in the background is also distracting. In fact he is the only evidence of motion in this shot (aside from the fact that the subject will be coming down at some point)
Not quite sure what to say about this; what about the skateboarder's right foot? hands? the background railing? I thought all of these gave a real sense of motion to the pic, while keeping the gaze locked. I will concede that having the guy in the background turned out to be a bit distracting to most voters.
Awesome! I don't normally dig guys that are half my size and half my age..but I'd be willing to change my entire criteria for him. Nice trainers too :-) 8
Was the guy walking behind a plant or just a passer by. A part ofme would like to see the image without him, but if he was gone you wouldnt have met the challenge as well. Great capture on his face - clean and in focus. 7
I hope you told the guy who walked by that he distroyed the best shot taken in this challenge. Great shot, but the guy in the background is way too distracting.
