Tnx to all the commenters and viewers,
I'm really did not understand the theme of the challange, I thought it was all about motion, and I c I was wrong.
Anyway, tnx to those who liked the picture inspite the fact it does not match the challange :)
Now that the challenge is finished I can say that this is a hell of a good photo. I can feel the dancing here. Still so many things to be improved, but a lovely results (I mean, the photo, not the score).
There was something about this image that I liked, but I can't really put my finger on it; maybe the contrast of the pretty sharp right wall with the blurred dancers and the play of the light. Even so, I can't really identify the motion panning aspect; the primary subjects are all blurred, and my eye always seemed to be looking for something else.
You captured the motion of the dance, but in a backwards sense.
Had this been a motion pan, the background would have been blurry, keeping the main subjects at least somewhat in focus. 4
Colors are muted and shadowed heavily. Image subject is not interesting.
Not motion panning -- this is long exposure.
The environment is stationary. The subjects are blurred (in motion). To achieve motion panning, you should have a slow exposure and be tracking a moving subject so that you stop the motion of the subject and blur the background, leaving the impression of action (often fast action).
doesn't seem to be motion panning... camera appears to have been completely still with the moving subjects. the composition looks really interesting though, would have like to seen this with some camera movement.
This is a nice composition, but not an illustration of the sort of panning described in this challenge. Otherwise, the subjects would be in focus (or at least relatively in focus) while the background would be blurred.
I don't believe that this meets the challenge: "motion panning" means (to me) moving the camera to track a moving subject. This image appears to be a slow exposure from a stationary camera to illustrate the motion of the dancers....
